ThinkThin Honey Drizzle PeanutThe problem with these bars is that the dark chocolate coating hides whatever flavor is supposedly in the bar. Only ThinkThin Salted Caramel Lean Protein Fiber Bar had its own flavor. The rest … it was like having the same bar. Still hope to track down the ThinkThin Cinnamon Bun White Chocolate Lean Protein and Fiber Bar as I hear it’s delicious.

Chocolate Almond Brownie: Surprisingly, this one doesn’t taste like a dark chocolate bar. It’s nothing special. In fact, I can’t remember much about it other than it was an unadventurous chocolate bar. But it was more tolerable than the other two low rated bars.


ThinkThin Chunky Chocolate PeanutChunky Chocolate Peanut: Just as forgettable as the brownie. Peanuts? What peanuts?


Honey Drizzle Peanut: I can’t find the honey especially with the weird bitter taste getting in the way of the experience. Not bitter as in dark chocolate bitter.


ThinkThin Caramel Salt BarSalted Caramel: This soft, thin bar is coated with dark chocolate. Caramel and salt hide inside this lush coat. Bring it all together, chocolate and caramel play nice in the sandbox. Then salty comes along to add a finishing touch with a flourish. Caramel lovers will be pleased. Those who go hot/cold with caramel might have mixed feelings about this bar. Some caramel flavors don’t always mesh for them and this could be one.

Nutrition facts: 150 calories, 4.5g total fat, 1.5g sat fat, 220mg sodium, 20g carbs, 5g dietary fiber, 5g sugars and 20g protein.


CedarLane Garden Vegetable Enchiladas

CedarLane Garden Vegetable EnchiladaI love Tex Mex and couldn’t wait to try CedarLane Garden Vegetable Enchiladas. Beware. The nutrition facts cover one enchilada and there are two servings per box. Really? The whole thing is 280 calories, which is good. I dropped a 0.5 point as I think this is misleading.

Organic beans, bell pepper and tortillas. All natural, low fat.

Delicious. Just like having a real Mexican meal without the guilt. Spiciness level is around medium or a skoosh below.

Now I can’t find this anywhere … I hope the company didn’t stop making them. But then, I’ve been to five stores and no one has these. They have the CedarLane Three Layer Enchilada Pie, but not these. 🙁 And I like ’em better than the pie. The pie’s great — but CedarLane Garden Vegetable Enchiladas are perfection.

South Beach Diet Chocolate Caramel Nut Snack BarSouth Beach Diet Chocolate Caramel Peanut Snack Bar has 100 calories packs a punch of caramel nutty flavor. It tastes like a candy bar. I can’t quite put my finger on what it reminds me of — but it’s yummy. Unfortunately, I was hungry again in fewer than two hours. My afternoon snack usually keeps me satisfied until dinner time.

And right there on the box it says, “Curbs cravings.” Actually, that doesn’t mean it’ll stave off hunger. It means it’ll help with cravings for chocolate, sweets and whatnot. OK, I’ll give it that. I didn’t have any cravings for any of that.

My number one priority with my afternoon snack is satiety. It needs to keep me going for the rest of the afternoon until dinner time. South Beach Diet Chocolate Caramel Peanut Snack Bar didn’t cut it. Wonderful flavor and decent nutritionals with 6g fiber, 6g protein, 6g sugars (not bad for something like this) and 15g of carbs.

This bar works for phases 2 and 3.

Detour Lower Sugar Protein Bars

Detour Lower Sugar BarsDetour Lower Sugar Protein Bars have an impressive amount of protein in them with less than 5g of sugar in the smaller bars. They come in two sizes: 43g and 85g. All information here is based on the smaller 43g bars as I’d never eat a bar that’s 340 calories. Anyway, I had one of these for lunch and it didn’t take long before the stomach growled proclaiming it thought it needed more food. It usually doesn’t growl within an hour after lunch. So Detour isn’t as filling as other protein bars.

Nutrition Facts: 170 calories, 45 calories from fat, 5g total fat, 3g saturated fat, 5mg cholesterol, 240mg sodium, 140mg potassium, 17g carbs, 2g dietary fiber, 3g sugars, 12g sugar alcohol, 15g protein.



Detour Chocolate Chip Caramel

Flavor wasn’t anything special. More like chocolate caramel. It has chips, but you wouldn’t know it unless you looked at the bar.

Nutrition Facts: 170 calories, 40 calories from fat, 4.5g total fat, 3g saturated fat, 15mg cholesterol, 160mg sodium, 90mg potassium, 17g carbs, 1g dietary fiber, 3g sugars, 13g sugar alcohol, 15g protein.



Detour Peanut Butter Cream

Surprisingly this was my least favorite of the flavors I tried. It was still good, but not as good as the others. While there’s a peanut butter cream layer on top, it’s not noticeable when taking a bite. However, if you just bite the top part, you’ll notice it. This flavor is more of a chocolate peanut butter as both flavors have equal presence.
