FRS Healthy Energy ConcentrateFRS (Free Radical Scavenger) Healthy Energy is “fueled by quercetin, an antioxidant found in foods like blueberries, red apples and grapes. Quercetin works by naturally triggering the body’s ability to produce more real energy. The more energy your body creates, the longer you’re able to push. And the longer you can push, the farther you’ll go.

A single 11.5-ounce serving of FRS contains a healthy amount of quercetin, but to get the equivalent you’d have to be willing – and able – to eat 40 apples in a sitting.”

Low cal orange concentrate: I mixed 2 ounces of concentrate with 6 ounces of water, one pack of sweetener and lots of ice. It tastes like an icy orange juice. At first, the taste was exactly like having orange juice. But the more I drank it, the less it tasted like orange juice and it lost some appeal. Each serving of FRS Concentrate has 250 mg of quercetin and 15 calories.

Another time, I made it with 4 ounces of almond milk, 2 ounces water, 2 ounces concentrate, one pack of sweetener and lots of ice. Maybe the taste improved a little. Not much. I made it with 6 ounces almond milk, half a serving of protein powder, a dash vanilla, pack of sweetener, 1/4 tsp guar gum (optional — it makes it creamy), 1/8 tsp xanthan gum (optional — it makes it thicker) and lots of ice. It was wonderful. The orange is the best of the three flavors. Rating: 3.5/5

Low cal wild berry ready-t0-drink can: The 11.5-ounce serving has 325 mg of quercetin and 25 calories. The wild berry tastes like a diet drink meaning it’s not a strong flavor or yummy. You get the berry. You also taste that “diet” or “weak” flavor. It’s tolerable. The orange concentrate wins. Rating: 2.5/5

Low cal citrus pomegranate ready-t0-drink can: The 11.5-ounce serving has 325 mg of quercetin and 25 calories. The citrus pomegranate is a little better than the berry. Rating: 2.5/5

FRS Orange Chews: Two of these make a serving at 40 calories. More than I’d like, but I decided to try them anyway. These taste like concentrated chews. Quite the opposite of watered down drinks. Because they’re concentrated, you can hardly taste the orange. These may have given me a boost — at least, more than the orange pack did. I don’t plan on buying these because I cannot justify 40 calories per serving in a little chew. Yes, I work out regularly, but I am not a big calorie burning machine. (I wish!) Rating: 3/5

FRS Pineapple Mango Chews: Again, these are strong that I couldn’t take the pineapple or the mango. But I could tell it was different from the orange in not only color, but also flavor. You could say one is like having an orange and the other like a tangerine. Same family — subtle differences. Rating: 3/5

Did these give me more energy? Maybe. Hard to say. A real test would be a day when I don’t feel like working out and I drink this 30 minutes before.
